Biography
Storytelling in all its forms is my greatest joy. As an actor and singer, I have always loved discovering and expressing the subtleties of the narrative in works by great playwrights, authors and composers (and the occasional choreographer).
I originated the role of Carlyle in “The Stonewater Rapture”, by Pulitzer and Tony award-winning playwright Doug Wright, which earned a Fringe First award at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Other favorites include the title role in “Tamara” (Los Angeles production), “Lust and Pity” at the Laurie Beechman Theatre and the musical “Strider” at TheatreWorks, Silicon Valley.
Recent film and TV credits include "Silent Retreat" (Miramax, post prod.), "FBI: Most Wanted" (CBS), "Law and Order: SVU" (NBC), "Love Life" (Lionsgate), "Last Vermont Christmas" (Hallmark, dir. David Jackson) "Then Came You" (dir. Peter Hutchings, 2019) and "Diane" (dir. Kent Jones, 2019).
I work regularly as an audiobook narrator, enjoying the challenge and limitless possibility, working in a variety of genres.
In addition to my work in musical theatre, I perform in jazz and cabaret venues in the NYC area. I thoroughly enjoy exploring The Great American Songbook, Broadway and jazz; inhabiting a world of - in NY Times music critic Stephen Holden’s words - “Manhattan under glass; or rather, old Manhattan under glass; or to be more accurate, a dream of old Manhattan under glass: here time stands still.”
I hold a B.A. in Theater from Stanford University and continued my professional acting training at The Neighborhood Playhouse, HB Studios and with Gordon Hunt, William Alderson, Ron Canada and Anthony Grasso. As a vocalist, I have studied with Andrea Marcovicci, Marilyn Maye, Jerry Phelps, Lennie Watts, Lina Koutrakos, Teri Roiger and many others.
